FireGuard doors are UL-listed for up to 3 hours as a fire door.
Won-Door FireGuard
Unlock the freedom to design wide-open spaces without compromising life safety. Won-Door FireGuard is the original horizontal-sliding accordion fire door, proven for decades in schools, hospitals, airports and commercial buildings that demand both performance and design flexibility. Instead of cluttering your plan with banks of swing doors and oversized fire frames, FireGuard disappears into a pocket, preserving clean sightlines and full use of the opening until an alarm event occurs.
During everyday operation, the opening remains completely clear. When signaled by the building’s fire alarm or smoke detection system, FireGuard deploys automatically to create a code-compliant fire and smoke barrier, helping compartmentalize a building and protect paths of egress. With fire ratings available up to three hours and models that can function as temperature-rise doors or even movable fire walls, FireGuard meets some of the most demanding life-safety requirements in the industry.
Every FireGuard system is custom- manufactured to your project, accommodating openings of virtually any width and heights up to 30 feet in straight, curved, single-slide, bi-parting and even corner configurations. That design freedom allows architects to open up atria, corridors, monumental stairs and assembly spaces while still satisfying IBC and NFPA criteria for use in a means of egress, typically without occupant-load limitations.
Behind the clean, compact pocket is a robust, motor-driven closing system engineered for reliability. Integrated controls tie seamlessly into common fire-alarm and access-control platforms, supporting fail- safe operation, controlled egress and security strategies in one coordinated assembly. Because the door is stacked and protected when not in use, there is no exposed surface hardware to damage, dramatically reducing maintenance over the life of the building.
FireGuard is ideal for education, healthcare, transportation hubs, mixed-use developments and civic projects where open, daylit layouts are a priority. By replacing traditional swing or rolling fire doors with a concealed horizontal solution, owners gain more usable area, smoother traffic flow and a more inviting experience for building occupants every day.
