At Door Systems, we believe great companies are built by great people.

This volume of our Team Member Spotlight series celebrates four team members who have reached an incredible milestone: 10 years with Door Systems.

Please join us in celebrating:

Trineice Marigny Contract Administrator
Salvador Perez Director of Design & Development
Mario Martinez Operations Manager
Phil Whinery Senior Engineer

All four joined Door Systems within months of each other during a period of exponential company growth. At a time when the future was expanding quickly, they chose to believe in the vision, trust the leadership before them, and invest their talents into building something bigger than themselves.

Ten years later, their impact can be seen across our company, our customers, our departments, and the many team members who have followed in their footsteps.

A Decade of Culture, Integrity, Growth, Focus, and Production

At Door Systems, our core values are more than words. They guide how we serve our customers, support one another, and deliver innovative fire protection solutions to the building industry.

Culture is reflected in the way these team members have helped create an environment where people can learn, contribute, and grow.

Integrity shows up in the quiet, consistent work that builds trust with architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, and fellow team members.

Growth is seen in the careers they have built, the departments they have helped develop, and the people they have trained, mentored, and supported.

Focus is demonstrated through their commitment to solving complex challenges in construction, design, operations, engineering, contract administration, and customer service.

Production is proven in the projects completed, relationships strengthened, standards improved, and solutions delivered year after year.

Together, Trineice, Sal, Mario, and Phil represent the kind of long-term commitment that makes Door Systems strong.

Trineice Marigny

Contract Administrator

Contract administration is one of those critical responsibilities that often happens quietly behind the scenes. When done well, it can go unnoticed because issues are prevented before they become problems.

That is the kind of steady, proactive work Trineice brings to Door Systems.

Her role requires organization, communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage unexpected challenges as they arise. Over the past 10 years, Trineice has helped support the internal structure that allows projects and teams to keep moving forward.

Her work reflects Integrity and Focus, helping ensure that the details are handled properly so others can execute with confidence.

Outside of work, Trineice is passionate about fitness and enjoys spending time at the beach. Her commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle is another reflection of the energy and discipline she brings to everything she does.

Thank you, Trineice, for 10 years of dedication, consistency, and professionalism.

Salvador Perez

Director of Design & Development

Sal Perez brings over two decades of construction experience across multiple disciplines. He joined Door Systems in 2015 as an estimator and quickly developed a passion for training others, helping build what is now our Estimating Department.

Today, as Director of Design & Development, Sal works with architects, engineers, specifiers, builders, and developers to educate the industry on the latest advances in opening protectives and fire life safety.

His work is deeply connected to Door Systems’ mission of providing innovative fire protection solutions to the building industry. He is passionate about helping the design and construction community understand how properly specified opening protectives can enhance the overall safety of a building.

Sal graduated as valedictorian of his class in 2014 and holds a degree in Drafting and Design Technologies. He is also certified in Construction Project Management.

As an education provider for AIA, CSI, and ICC, Sal regularly speaks across multiple platforms, helping expand awareness around fire life safety, code compliance, and product innovation.

His curiosity for fire life safety began at 18 years old during a brief career as an EMT for CARE Ambulance. That early experience helped shape the role he plays today as Door Systems’ in-house specifications writer and designer of fire life safety products.

Sal’s journey is a strong example of Growth, Culture, and Focus. He has grown his own career while helping others grow theirs.

Outside of work, Sal is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping and exploring waterfall hikes with his son and wife. When he is not lost in the wilderness, you can find him in urban forests capturing aerial videography with his drone.

Thank you, Sal, for 10 years of education, innovation, leadership, and commitment to fire life safety.

Mario Martinez

Operations Manager

Mario Martinez has been in the commercial door industry for well over two decades. His career began as an apprentice, then as a journeyman and foreman with the Carpenters Union.

In 2015, Mario joined Door Systems as an estimator. Today, he serves as Operations Manager, overseeing key areas of the company, including the installation division, service department, national dealer training, and technical support.

Mario’s experience includes field installation, foreman and supervisor roles, fire door inspection through IFDIA, involvement with the California Society for Healthcare Engineering, estimating and development, project management, aftermarket sales, and service.

His day-to-day work involves navigating complex, multi-layered construction projects, supporting installers, establishing quality control guidelines, and helping maintain the high standards our customers expect from Door Systems.

Mario has built a strong foundation in operations management. His knowledge, commitment, and leadership have helped develop a strong team that provides exceptional customer support.

His impact reflects Culture, Production, and Integrity. He understands the field, supports the team, and helps ensure that quality remains a priority from planning through execution.

Outside of work, Mario is an avid sports enthusiast and a former Rialto High School football and baseball coach. He and his wife enjoy watching their kids play sports and perform on stage.

Thank you, Mario, for 10 years of leadership, operational excellence, and commitment to building strong teams.

Phil Whinery

Senior Engineer

Phil Whinery brings more than 10 years of experience to the Door Systems team. He joined Door Systems as an estimator in 2016 and moved into his current engineering role in 2017.

Phil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management and has an extensive background in drafting, estimating, customer service, ordering, and management.

As Senior Engineer, Phil and his team assist clients with project submittals and material procurement. Their work plays an important role in keeping projects moving, ensuring accurate documentation, supporting customer needs, and helping materials arrive on time.

Phil’s role requires technical understanding, attention to detail, communication, and consistency. He helps bridge the gap between project requirements and successful execution.

His work reflects Focus, Integrity, and Production. He supports the customer experience by helping ensure that the right information, materials, and support are in place when they are needed.

Born and raised in Chicago, Phil is an avid Cubs fan and was lucky enough to attend the 2016 World Series. Outside of work, he enjoys exercising, golfing, cars, motorcycles, and spending time with his family and his dog, Koa.

Thank you, Phil, for 10 years of engineering support, customer service, and dedication to project success.

Built by People Who Believe in the Vision

Reaching a 10-year milestone is more than a career anniversary. It is a reflection of commitment, trust, resilience, and belief.

Trineice, Sal, Mario, and Phil each joined Door Systems during a defining season of growth. They stayed, adapted, learned, led, and helped shape the company we are today.

They have contributed to stronger departments, better processes, deeper customer relationships, and continued innovation in fire protection solutions for the building industry.

Most importantly, they have helped grow the people around them.

That is what makes this milestone so meaningful.

To Trineice, Sal, Mario, and Phil: thank you for 10 years of Culture, Integrity, Growth, Focus, and Production.

We are grateful for the impact you have made, the example you continue to set, and the future you are helping build at Door Systems.
